In this video I cover some of the processes related to using the Product Data Management Module (PDM). This module not only allows you to keep track of and schedule tickets for each of your developers/engineers…, but it also automatically interfaces to the CRM system in order to provide a seamless flow from the point of the initial communication to the last phase of testing and release cycles. The Product Data Management and Customer Relationship Management systems will quickly begin to look like a single module to you after you begin to take advantage of their true potential. I’ll step through the process of taking an initial support call all the way through testing. This video is not meant to replace the individual training videos, but is rather an overview of the entire process.

It’s been a few weeks since my last post so I wanted to take a few minutes to catch everyone up on our progress. First, I’m sure everyone has seen our new website that we’re very excited to roll out this week. We’ve still got a few more things to do to it before it’s completed, but I think the new look has given the company an overall positive face lift. Next week starts the first official advertising push and we’re all very excited about it. The team is really forming up nicely and the newer people are quickly beginning to get in the groove with everyone else. Productivity is higher than it’s ever been before and the excitement around the office is unbelievable. Especially with me.. …

Eric has been doing an awesome job on the Financing module. Currently we can attach units and trades to a deal, attach items to units and are in the final stages of working up an actual quote. Eric has jumped right in with the rest of us and is no longer a newbie. He’s doing a really good job at pumping the code out and giving the project that extra little bit that is going to make it the best F&I package around. We should be getting close to being able to demo the quote portion of the package within the next few weeks. I’m still shooting for January being the month we enter full testing mode on the module and I’m optimistic that we’ll reach that goal.

Jeff is entering the final testing phase of the special order processes and has also done an awesome job. I don’t think I could have put together a better team of developers if I tried. Everyone is working together really well and getting a lot of stuff done. So far we’ve started demoing the special order processing and overall inventory work flow and Lizzy™ has received A+ grades from all of those able to see it. It’s like everything else you do in life where you work in a closet and are a bit worried about what everyone else will think of your hard work when you finally show it to them. We were also concerned but optimistic that it would be well received. So far we’ve not been disappointed and each demo just makes us that much more excited. I’m going to have my video processing system up and running full bore next week and should be able to start producing some demo’s that everyone can view on the different modules that are about to be unleashed on the world.

The CRM system also received some needed upgrades this month in a new and improved call logging facility, being able to pause telephone conversations to do other things and a totally integrated Email system. The email system is in the final phase of development now, but is set to completely replace your email clients and integrate your company email with your customer database. So that incoming and outgoing emails are not only in your inbox/sent box, but are also automatically attached to the customers records. We’re very excited about this here at nizeX, Inc because it’s going to allow us to better track and respond to our customers needs as well.

So what’s left?

We still need to finish up being able to attach labor to a service ticket, receive and pay units on the payable form, add the gateways to process credit cards, handle warranty claims and rebates, handle F&I and plug in the code for the departmental accounting. Most everything else is either finished or is in testing at the moment. I know that a lot of you are anxious to get your hands on Lizzy™ and we’re just as anxious to get it to you. Unfortunately we’re not going to rush it out the door and are going to take our time to make sure all aspects are 100% before we let her loose to run your entire business. Most modules such as CRM, PDM, Accounting, Inventory control and so forth are already ready to go, but because they integrate fully with the other modules we have to make sure that they all speak the same language and don’t get in arguments.

Pete and I have been discussing the switch over date for Lizzy™ in respect to new sales and the phasing out of TBA, and we think we’ve about reached the point. Unless something changes, December will mark the first month we begin active demoing and sales of Lizzy™ and begin to talk about TBA less and less. For those still demanding a Windows based package we will continue to sale and support it for the next few years, but will no longer be making it our central focus. We believe that once everyone has had the chance to see and use Lizzy™ that The Business Assistant (TBA) will become a distant memory.

Well, I think that gets us mostly caught up for now. There are a ton of exciting things going on here at nizeX, Inc. and the world is about to finally get to see.

Until next time…

glenn

One of the coolest parts of Lizzy™ is her ability to operate flawlessly on the Apple iPhone. Because the entire application was written with speed in mind, pretty much everything that works on your desktop works on the iPhone. I say pretty much only because to use the iPhone, you have to make the compromise with the smaller screen, but all of your reports and processes that you’re use to running at work, will run just as well on the road.

If you’ve got access to a wireless card for your computer, Lizzy™ will also run very well across this platform as well. As mentioned in other posts here, the systems CRM, PDM and other modules are all designed to download the absolute minimum amount of data in order to do their job. Opening the first page after logging in is the only screen that will take a few moments to load, simply because of the fact that it’s having to open the calendar, dashboard, time clock and other related items. Once they’re open however, they never get touched again. Lizzy™ uses state of the art AJAX processes through 100% of her functions, allowing for the fastest, most Windows like interface on the market.

As an example, lets say that you login to Lizzy and she presents you with the dashboard and calendar. You then click CRM and start looking up a customer. After you find the customer you were looking for you log a call. You’ll notice that Lizzy updated your dashboard to show the call you’re logging, but she didn’t go get a new dashboard, she only adds information to the one you already have. When you finish logging the call she’ll update it again with the most current information.

Next time you go click CRM / Locate again it will run even faster as it had already downloaded the information from the first time you opened it and doesn’t need to waste your time retrieving it again. Lizzy™ is always trying to stay a step ahead of you in order to make your day to day operations as smooth as possible, and to provide you with that critical information you need as quickly as physically possible.

Come give Lizzy™ a try, click the Free 30 Day link at the top of the page and let us show you what we’re made of.

This entry contains a new video on how to properly move information from its initial creation, logging phone calls, creating tickets, moving those tickets to PDM and following the flow all the way through testing. There is a logical flow of information through Lizzy and it’s critical that you understand it if you plan to take full advantage of Lizzy. Hopefully the following video will aid in your understanding of the flow.

Please note that this video does not cover all aspects and only touches on the general flow of the CRM PDM Systems themselves.

Lizzy was created by Atlanta based Nizex Inc. and has been in use in a number of different companies for the past few years. The 1.0 version of Lizzy was started as a Product Data Management System (PDM) and was used for 5 years to manage the software design process for major software companies. Eventually the product broke off into its own and has quickly become much more than just a PDM system.

The logical next step was to add Customer Relations Management or CRM to the suite, and since we had already designed a similar Windows based application, we felt it was a good fit to take it to the web. This was accomplished about 2 years ago and has since replaced the Windows based system in the companies that ran it. However, the more we got attached to the speed and ease of entering and keeping track of our data, we quickly wanted more.

Our previous experience was actually in producing a complete business management software package for multiple industries. This application was and is huge, and performs all sorts of tasks. It’s currently number one in two different industries and we knew to take on a project like that within Lizzy was going to be a real challenge. We don’t shoot for second best and always strive to be the best all around company in whatever we do. So when we started laying out the ground work for the business side of Lizzy, we thought long and hard about every problem we faced with the old system and designed our way around them all.

We figured if we were going to write an Accounting System and an Inventory Management System that everything had to integrate with everything else completely, or we didn’t want to mess with it. After almost a year of tinkering with idea after idea, we finally started to see it start to take shape. Lizzy is the accumulation of years of thought and design all bound up into a single integrated package that we’re very proud of. Please don’t take the pride to mean we’ll get our feelings hurt if you don’t like it though. We love to hear negative thoughts because they’re the ones that get us motivated to make her better.

So to answer the question as to whether Lizzy is a CRM system or a complete business and accounting system, the short answer is both. Today Lizzy is a fully integrated PDM and CRM system, next month we plan to add payroll to that suite and shortly there after we plan to add the entire Invoicing, Inventory Control, Purchase Orders, Receivables, Checking, GL, COA, Petty Cash and more to the suite. All of the above mentioned items are mostly finished and are in testing now. We’re cleaning up the interfaces, adding bells and whistles and working through any last minute problems we might identify along the way. In the end, you’ll be delivered a complete business system from a single vendor that handles all of your issues in a one stop shop.

Contact us today for a free trial or just give us a call to discuss your business plans. We look forward to hearing from you.
